Renowned for her musical sensitivity and expressivity, Emma Seedell-Greene is an English cellist with an ever-growing passion and interest in performance and multicultural music. She has garnered over a decade of experience in orchestral, chamber, and solo performance, performing in world-class concert halls such as the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria, as well as her local concert hall in Brisbane Australia, QPAC.
Some of Emma’s notable experiences include performances alongside the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO), and four years of being a tutti cellist in the Queensland Youth Symphony (QYS). In 2023, she was a cellist for the QYS world tour, performing in Singapore, Germany, and Austria. As of now, Emma actively performs as a principal and tutti cellist of the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. Later in the year, she will perform Boccherini’s Cello Concerto No. 9 in B-flat Major with the Indooroopilly Chamber Orchestra.
Currently, Emma is completing her third year of study at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, where she is mentored by esteemed Hungarian cellist György Deri, who was previously associate professor at the Franz Liszt University of Music, Hungary. Previous to this, Emma received valuable tutelage from QSO cellist Matthew Jones, and the late David Dornbusch.
